I found this book to be both beautiful and heartbreaking. Shreve did a nice job of blending a mystery with the family saga than ensued. I longed for the Grace to find happiness and cheered for her throughout. I give it 4.5 stars because I enjoyed the characters, both good and bad. I won’t spoil anything, but I did not find the ending to be satisfying or fulfilling.
