Meet the Author: Morgan Jane

Today, we’re sitting down with the highly-intriguing author, Morgan Jane. Take off your shoes, open up a new tab in your browser, and prepare to buy one of her amazing novels.

jackson baer, jackson paul baer, the earth bleeds red, pandamoon publishing, what the hell, literary fiction, suspense, mystery, compelling fiction, new author, joyce carol oates, junot diaz, sherman alexie, novel with a twist, corvallis, books set in oregon, suspense novel, mystery novel, lit fiction, the lights will never fade, what the hell book, morgan jane, sanguis city

You are a new author with fantastic covers. Tell us the name of your two books already published and the one on its way.

Thank you! The covers were made by my husband W. Solomon Mitchell. He painted Sanguis City’s cover on canvas before he worked his graphic art magic and it is hanging on my wall. The Education of Lilanoir Rue and My Name is Noir are both novellas that are prequels to my upcoming paranormal series Sanguis City. They aim to tell the main character’s story before she is living in the city of blood.

Oooh, I love novellas!

So you’ve got a chance to make two wishes but they can’t have anything to do with you. What would you wish?

I would wish to stop all wars (forever) and eliminate poverty. I suppose, I am wishing for a utopian society.

If you could write your next novel in any country in the world, which one would you choose?

I would spend the year in a chateau in France writing the second in the Sanguis City series but then I would have to come home. I like the United States just fine.

What is your favorite one hit wonder (I’m thinking Chumbawamba)?

If I have to pick one, I would say “White Horse” by Laid Back. I was so little when I heard it, I had no clue that the lyrics were talking about drugs. It is the beat I love and that song influenced Prince to write Erotic City.

What can we expect from you over the next twelve months?

Sanguis City is coming out in July and the second in the series in December. I have so many books in the works, all half finished. I don’t know which one it will be but I will be releasing an unrelated book too. I have a goal of 50K twitter followers by next year. I plan to take over the world!

That’s awesome! I love someone who is ambitious.

Who is your favorite author and if you could ask him/her one question, what would it be?

Even with all the brouhaha over Charlaine Harris latest book, I will still call her my favorite. I would love to know why she wrote about “Literary Fangbangers” in her latest book. She seemed to be putting down people who are obsessed with reading and writing vampire books. Even though the author only had her main, beloved, character have the opinion, a lot of readers have taken it as a slight to us, her fans. I would love to know if she meant it that way. Because that is how I took it and it hurt!

 Lightning round:

Ocean or mountains? Ocean, just because I have been in the mountains for years.

Chicken or steak? Steak, I love animals, with ketchup! I just lost vegan fans everywhere. Can I say that it is cruelty free, grass fed beef?

Popcorn or chocolate? Chocolate!

Happy or sad ending to a novel? Happy, but I want to work for it… angst!

Beer or wine? I would say wine but I just had a Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale and I would drink one over wine any day!

Flying or driving? I just flew to NYC and I say fly, if the plane is big…drive if the plane is small.

Biographies or historical fiction? I have read so many biographies that I will take historical fiction. Give me Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter please!

You’re stranded on a desert island and you can take only three things with you. What are you bringing?

A boat and 2 paddles!

You’re able to sit down with any president in United States history. Who would you choose and what would you talk about?

Bill Clinton, who would talk? No seriously, we would talk… I used to be a political blogger so I have a list ready for the next time I see him. It’s not that I wouldn’t love to talk to Abraham Lincoln or JFK but I am more interested in current history.

Morgan Jane is:

A Pioneer Blogger and ex-political wingnut gone fan fiction writer, now I am working on my upcoming Paranormal/ Urban Fantasy Series. I love graphic design, painting, knitting, quilting, gardening, cooking, writing, taking beautiful photos but have never taken my creative side seriously until now.

Meet the Author: Glenna Maynard

Today, we’re sitting down and learning a little bit more about the up-and-coming romance author, Glenna Maynard. Prepare to fall in love with a girl who can do nothing but write about just that: love.

jackson baer, jackson paul baer, the earth bleeds red, pandamoon publishing, what the hell, literary fiction, suspense, mystery, compelling fiction, new author, joyce carol oates, junot diaz, sherman alexie, novel with a twist, corvallis, books set in oregon, suspense novel, mystery novel, lit fiction, the lights will never fade, what the hell book, glenna maynard, beautiful strangers

You’re the author of BEAUTIFUL STRANGERS and I must admit, the cover is eye-catching. If you could give one sentence to describe your book, what would it be?

One sentence, not taking it easy on me ha ha. Beautiful Strangers is not your normal romance, the characters are so real you feel like you are living the story through them.

What is the most difficult aspect when it comes to writing?

Writing the blurb and editing. My first time editing about killed me.

If you could live in a foreign country, which one would you choose?

I would love to live in France, I have never been. But what better place to write about love than in Paris, the city of love?

Who is your favorite band from the 90’s (I’m a big fan of Blink 182 and Counting Crows)?

Now that is tough, I love just about all things 90’s. If I have to choose a few I will say Mazzy Star, Alice ‘N’ Chains, and STP (Stone Temple Pilots)

I almost forgot about Mazzy Star… I love them! So…

What are you working on now?

I just might be crazy but I am working on books 2 and 3 for The Masquerade Series, Beautiful Liar and Beautiful Lover and a stand alone, I’m with you.

Who is your favorite author and if you could ask him/her one question, what would it be?

Oh a favorite, you don’t hold back! So, I would ask Charlaine Harris why oh why she broke my heart along with the hearts of thousands with the way she ended the Sookie books and demand a real answer.

Lightning round:

Ocean or mountains? Mountains with an ocean view

Chicken or steak? Chicken

Strawberries or blueberries? Strawberries

Comedy or drama? Comedy

Beer or wine? Beer

Cruise or cabin getaway? Cabin getaway

National park or Broadway show? National Park

Shakespeare or Twain? Shakespeare

You’re stranded on a desert island and you can take only three things with you. What are you bringing?

Only 3: matches, food, and a raft.

Smart girl 🙂

You’re able to sit down with any president in United States history. Who would you choose and what would you talk about?

Bill Clinton. We would talk about music, books, and why ladies love him so much.

Thank you Glenna for stopping by and giving us such a fun interview!
