I’m the author of “What the Hell” (Oct ’11), and the literary suspense, “The Earth Bleeds Red” (Oct ’13). I recently finished writing a literary psychological thriller: “The Lights Will Never Fade.”

I’m originally from Woodstock, Ga (north of Atlanta). I’m a huge Braves and Georgia Tech fan. I lived in Oregon from 2008-2013 and moved back to North Georgia (2013) after spending the past 12 years all over the country. I love the Trailblazers as well as Oregon State, where I will graduate with a B.A. in English in December 2014. I’ve been married for 11 years and we have 4 beautiful children together, aged 4-10.

I graduated from a Bible college in 2003 and that is where I met my wife. I spent 7 years as a youth & teaching pastor, but have not been a pastor since May 2011. I’m not very religious though you will find spiritual themes within my writing due to it being such a large part of the majority of my life. My characters, much like myself, struggle with faith, doubt, and love as a part of their everyday lives. The Earth Bleeds Red is by no means a Christian novel, however, with language you’d find in real life, as well as situations not suited for a church service.

I own my own business Name Brand Thrift and have always had a bit of a wandering soul. It allows me to write, raise a family, and experience life without living a 9-5 routine.

My favorite author is Joyce Carol Oates and I also love Junot Diaz and Sherman Alexie, among many others. Their novels have influenced me the most and I’d like to think my writing style resembles their amazing books. Them by Joyce Carol Oates is the best book I’ve ever read. If you’ve never read it, stop what you’re doing right now and read it. Seriously, do it now.

Thank you for visiting,

Jackson Paul Baer

Jackson, thanks for following my blog. 🙂 Yours looks like it will be interesting, and I’d like to sign up to get posts via e-mail if I could. I just never look at the RSS feed. Is there a place to do that? The site you signed up on for mine isn’t active any more as I’ve switched over to a URL of my own. If you do want to follow what I’m writing now, the link is http://www.journeyintotheson.com .

    Blessings!
